REVIEW - New Sleek MakeUP 'Showstoppers' Limited Edition Palette

Sleek MakeUP are at it again, releasing a new limited edition, online exclusive palette to tempt all you eyeshadow lovers out there! Not only that, but this time they have have specially selected what they consider their best shades (based on their 'supreme pigmentation, bold colour and spectacular finish') making 'Showstoppers' (theoretically) the crème de la crème of Sleek MakeUP palettes.

'Showstoppers' comes across as extremely well thought out - pretty neutrals, wearable colours, and a mix of shades which could easily take you from day to night. The peachy corals are also right 'on trend' for Spring/ Summer and could double up as blushes if you need to save a little space in your travel make-up bag! The matte black, navy and grey would be perfect for eyeliners, too - awesome!

[ Paraguaya, Sunset, Bad Girl, Ultra Mattes V2, Oh So Special, Bohemian ]

It may be worth noting that on the plastic insert, these shades are named after the palette from which they originate - not their original shade names.

'Paraguaya' (AKA 'Sandstone') - Pale, pink toned peach. Matte finish.
'Sunset' - Rich, brown toned cranberry with slight pink tones. Shimmer finish.
'Bad Girl' (AKA 'Innocence') - Bright white. Frost finish.
'Ultra Mattes V2' (AKA 'Thunder') - Medium, neutral grey. Matte finish.
'Oh So Special' (AKA 'Ribbon') - Clean, bright coral, such a Summery shade! Matte finish.

 [ Me, Myself and Eye / Graphite / Noir / Storm / Sparkle / Au Naturel ]

'Me, Myself and Eye' (AKA 'Primal Green') - Glimmering medium olive green with subtle gold tones. Shimmer finish.
'Graphite' (AKA 'Gunmetal') - Lavender toned medium gunmetal. Shimmer finish.
'Noir' - A staple in most Sleek MakeUP palettes, 'Noir' is a standard, super dark matte black.
'Storm' - A peachy, off white ideal for the inner eye area. Frost finish.
'Sparkle' (AKA 'Festive') - Rich, regal purple with super fine lilac glitter. Sparkle finish.
'Au Naturel' (AKA 'Mineral Earth') - Beautiful, slightly warm dark brown. Shimmer finish.

Naturally, pigmentation and blendability on all of these shades is excellent  - as with all Sleek MakeUP palettes (you know I love 'em!) I'd recommend applying these over a primer, such as Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Shadow Insurance or even MUA eye primer for maximum wear time.

Overall, a carefully planned palette which I feel would be best for those just starting to get into make-up, those checking Sleek MakeUP out for the first time or those who want a nice selection of truly wearable, flattering shades.

RRP £7.99, available EXCLUSIVELY on the Sleek MakeUP site from April 10th.

Any of these shades catching your eye? What's your dream Sleek MakeUP palette?

  4. I've really gone off Sleek recently! Their shadows have made my eyes water a few times and I just dont feel they bring anything new to my stash. This really looks like something I would get my sister or friends who are new to makeup though, a good colour range :)
